Hawthorne Education Center playground features a butterfly themed play area with butterflies mounted on pieces of equipment and 1 for photo stations at ground level. It also includes independent play equipment like climbing boulders, music stations and thunderdome climbers. The play area also features  "Xgrass" artificial synthetic grass for safety surface.
